WomensCare Magazine Offers Readers the Opportunity to Enter to Win the Organized CookTM cookbook!

The new issue of WomensCare magazine is now available at The Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Centers of Excellence or by visiting strosehospitals.org.

With each issue of WomensCare magazine we produce, we have the opportunity to share stories of hope and healing about our patients and their families. In this issue, we briefly highlight one of our Children’s Miracle Network moms, Toni Spilsbury, and offer our readers the opportunity to win one of 12 copies of her cookbook, The Organized Cook, through the St. Rose Dominican Hospitals Facebook page.

For more than a decade, Toni worked for large health insurance organizations. She helped them save money through organizational efficiency but found that her own opportunities for personal growth and satisfaction were limited.

Toni has discovered great meaning in her life through meeting the needs of her four children, including twins who were born at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals. One of Toni’s twins, a precious baby boy, was born blind and has faced other learning disabilities.

With the support of her husband, Toni established the Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation (NBCF) to provide information and services that enable families, healthcare professionals and the community to understand and meet the unique needs of children who are blind or visually impaired. Among the services NBCF provides is Nevada’s first Braille library, specialized learning programs and thoughtfully-orchestrated events for the visually impaired.

As Toni’s children have grown, she’s discovered – like most busy moms do – that her family is often moving in many different directions in order to get to school, practices and other activities. She decided it was imperative that her family gather together at the kitchen table for at least one shared meal each day.

Toni used her knack for cooking and organizational efficiency to create cost-efficient, easy-to-make meals for her family. Since then, she has debuted a meal plan system and cookbook to help other families spend less time and money at the grocery store, less time in the kitchen and more time with family.
